Communications Division

Radios, computer dispatch, dispatch procedures, and protocols all come under the domain of the Communications Division which is located in the emergency dispatch center located in a separate and protected location. The Communications Division consists of 9 civilian dispatchers who are integral members of the Fire Department and all are certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch and emergency telecommunications. The head of the Division is a Fire Lieutenant who is responsible for all of the Department's communications and records of incidents.

The Lynn Fire Department Fire Dispatch center is a regional dispatch center with the Lynn Fire Department responsible for fire and ambulance dispatch services for the city of Lynn, the Town of Swampscott and and the Town of Nahant.
